Bell's Theorem: the Neglected Solution    [PDF]

Louis Vervoort
'Total determinism' is known to be a solution of Bell's theorem, but it is usually considered implausible. Here we argue that total determinism is based on assumptions that are simpler and at least as solid as those of its competitors, indeterminism and nonlocality. By investigating model Hamiltonians in highly correlated spin systems, we show that a related solution exists, that can be termed 'universal correlation'. Quantum nonlocality can be given a simple interpretation in this model as 'non-systemicity', which is very different from strong nonlocality in the Bell sense.
