Classical and quantum mechanical correspondence is used to resolve the ordering-ambiguity associated with the von Roos position-dependent mass Hamiltonian. Point-canonical transformation is used to elaborate on the classical and quantum correspondence for position-dependent mass under free-force field and a harmonic oscillator potential. A unique ambiguity parametric set is reported and the ordering-ambiguity conflict in the von Roos Hamiltonian is now resolved into one unique representation.
