We report an experiment in which the Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) interference of quantum states with large photon numbers (on the average 8*10^5 photons per mode) generated via high-gain parametric down conversion (PDC) is observed. By applying a protocol based on measuring the variance of the difference signal the visibility of 99.99% was achieved in the experiment. The obtained results significantly increase the resolution in contrast with two-photon HOM interference and provide information about the temporal mode structure of the PDC radiation
