We propose an experimental scheme to realize the Jaynes-Cummings model where the two-level atom and the cavity photon share a common bath. We find that the cavity photon will have a dramatically slow decay rate, and the vacuum Rabi splitting in the transmissio spectrum shows an obvious asymmetric character. These two result can be explained based on the different decay rates of two dressed states. Quantum coherence enhances the decay rate of one dressed state but suppresses the decay rate of the other.
